Terms of Service

Welcome to Vintages Releases. By creating an account or otherwise using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

About the service

Vintages Releases is an independent web service that aggregates and displays information about wines released through the LCBO Vintages programme, including ratings sourced from third-party critic and community publications. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Liquor Control Board of Ontario.

Eligibility

You must be of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction (19+ in Ontario) to use the service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately via our legal contact form if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that are inactive for an extended period.

Subscriptions and billing

Some features of the service require a paid subscription. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period.

All payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are listed in Canadian dollars and may change with at least 14 days' notice. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulation.
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the service through automated means without our prior written permission.
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the service or its data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or performance of the service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, our systems, or our networks.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the service.

Third-party content and ratings

Wine ratings, prices, availability, and product information shown on the service are aggregated from third-party sources and from public LCBO data. This information may be inaccurate, out of date, or unavailable. We make no warranty as to its completeness or accuracy and you should verify any details that matter to you (price, availability, vintage, allergen information) directly with the LCBO before purchase.

Intellectual property

The service, including its visual design, branding, code, and original written content, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your personal, non-commercial use.

Wine names, producer names, and product imagery are the property of their respective owners and are reproduced for informational purposes.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vintages Releases and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) CAD $50.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if your continued use of the service poses a risk to us or to other users.

Changes to the service and to these Terms

We may modify or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time; material changes will be announced by email or by a prominent notice within the service before taking effect. Continued use of the service after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts located in Toronto, Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service.
